Impressive PR will return to Brighton for its fourth year running, taking over The Black Lion on Friday 19th May with one of the highlight free showcases of The Alternative Escape. ‘Impressive PR By The Sea’ presents a line-up of both upcoming bands and musical icons, showcasing a cross-section of the roster’s eclectic artists. Covering a diverse range of genres, the international acts’ bill represents from hard rock, indie, R&B, pop, acoustic, electronic sounds and everything in between.

LOUDER STILL – These fast rising hard rockers will release their debut single ‘Speed Machine’ on 2nd June. Bringing a new shine to 70s rock and early NWOBHM era, the Reading foursome swim against the tide of the current rock scene, creating a powerful combination of old and new. Wearing their heart on the sleeve and owing much to the great British rock giants as well as contemporary bands such as Airbourne and Inglorious, the band spent the past year honing their craft in the studio with Lower Than Atlantis and Alter Bridge engineer and producer John Mitchell, also responsible for Inglorious critically acclaimed debut album.

LERICHE – Canadian indie-folk singer-songwriter LeRiche will debut his dazzling new single ‘Under Covers’, set for release on 12th May via beloved and influential Fierce Panda Records. The first offering from his upcoming EP ‘X-Dreamer’, the warm track features yearning vocals, soulful harmonies, cluttering percussions, and a euphoric build unfolding from a melancholic start into a glorious all-embracing sound. A first look at his upcoming EP, due for release later this year and which consists of seven breezily heartfelt cuts that exemplify LeRiche’s heartwarming approach to music: one that is sure to resonate with listeners on its release.

CRITICS – Fresh from the success of their recent single ‘All I Wanna Know’, which saw support from the likes of Rocksound, Clash, and 1883 Magazine, the London based Dirt-Pop trio play their first show at The Great Escape. A recent signing to In De Goot management based in New York, the trio found themselves working with the team responsible for Biffy Clyro’s success in the US. Having supported punk-rockers Vukovi on their recent UK tour, the band are now ready to take the ferocious attitude and lyrical honesty to the festival circuit. Their upcoming single ‘Key Lime Pie’, out in June, will firmly catapult the band into the mainstream.

ANDREAS MOSS – Swedish-born, Nashville-based nu-R&B, singer-songwriter Andreas Moss is fresh from the success of his debut track, ‘Thinking About You’, which received over a million streams within a month of release, making it into Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ Playlist and jumping right onto their ‘Global Viral 50’. Andreas’ follow up ‘Stop Me’ is set for release on 12th May via Curb Records. Having recently performed at this year’s SXSW festival and iHeart Music Summit, alongside artists Charli XCX and Big Sean. Andreas will make his UK live debut at The Great Escape in Brighton.

NICK HEYWARD – Making his debut at The Great Escape, Nick will play songs from his eagerly anticipated solo album ‘Woodland Echoes’, set for release on 4 August 2017 via Gladsome Hawk. With a pre-order PledgeMusic campaign already in full swing, Nick’s first solo album in eighteen years will affirm his membership in the pantheon of classic pop songwriters. Known as the front man of pop-funk new wave group Haircut 100 – part of the 80s-pop explosion – the band went on to release four UK Top 10 hit singles, reaching no. 2 in the UK album charts, no. 31 in USA’s Billboard 200, with their debut album ‘Pelican’ ending up being certified platinum by BPI, and with Nick gracing the cover of pace-setting style magazine The Face.

GOOSE – Following the highly praised fourth album release – GOOSE’ cutting-edge electronic sound has seen support across the board from the likes of London In Stereo, Hi-Fi News, Notion, Music News and Aesthetica Magazine. As well as picking up spins on Radio X from John Kennedy and on Virgin Radio from long-time supporter Eddie Temple Morris for The Independent and i-D-acclaimed title track ‘What You Need’ and the Clash-premiered single ‘Call Me’. The band return with a brand new single Trip’, set for release via Believe Digital and Safari Records in June. Having recently headlined The Camden Assembly in London, the band will be back in the UK to play two shows at The Great Escape festival.
