*Hot Picks* Joan As Police Woman at The Old Market, Monday April 23rd

From the Big Apple, over a decade since the release of her universally well-received debut album “Real Life” (2006), the well respected multi-instrumentalist and songwriter is back with what surely represents her best album yet; “Damned Devotion”. Expect candid lyricism and an entrancing show. In Joan’s words: “My maxim is: if it feels scary to say it, it’s the thing you must say”. She’s worked with the artists from Anohni and Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed and Beck – through to Sufjan Stevens, Lau, RZA and Daniel Johnston; now see her perform her own solo show, presented by Melting Vinyl. Also on the night, see Fyfe Dangerfield.
