Release Review: Chris Simmons, “The Deepest Wound / Gold Dust” – Double A-Side Single, Out Now

Release Review: Chris Simmons, “The Deepest Wound / Gold Dust” – Double A-Side Single, Out Now

Ahead of his upcoming album, Simmons returns with two heartfelt tracks that deal with the loss of a loved one. Whilst the talented songwriter has always had the ability to stop listeners in their tracks, these delicate acoustic tracks resonate deeper than anything before. Incredibly personal, it’s an emotional journey and a welcome example of authenticity that can be hard to come by these days. Whilst the subject matter may be sad and the music haunting in parts, there’s an overarching positivity within the frailness that makes for a beautiful listen. Chris has managed to break our hearts but win them over at the same time.
Out Now, 8/10
