The Slow Show: “Dream Darling” – Album

This Manchester-based quintet’s sophomore LP starts off with the kind of subtly intensifying piano ballad that Sigur Ros would be proud to have penned.

Born of the life-changing hurdles that men in their late thirties and forties experience, this majestic collection of softly-burning indie rock crooners is topped-off perfectly by singer Rob Goodwin’s raspy baritone, bringing to mind the likes of Mark Lanegan, ILikeTrains and the National.

7/10, out now.
