Kollektiv is a pioneering art gallery run by emerging artists, for emerging artists. Using empty, recession-hit shops as temporary exhibition spaces, they provide workshops for the public and allow artists to use the workspace. Kollektiv is exhibiting Brighton based illustrators in an old local produce and butchery shop in Kemptown (Don’t worry veggies, it’s been cleaned and redecorated). The gallery was funded by a dynamic Kickstarter campaign, raising 50% of the money during the first 24 hours, and they were fully funded by the second week. Pledgers were given the opportunity to have an animal of their choice painted on the Marwood cafe walls. Kollektiv are selling limited edition, signed and stamped prints so you can give something other than bubble bath and socks this Christmas! Be sure to check it out.
