Meet Wet Nuns, South Yorkshire’s finest, and probably only, lo-fi stoner-rock duo. It’s clear from their band name that Wet Nuns don’t take themselves too seriously, but if you can put the American inspired tongue-in-cheek references to one side, what you are left with is an abundance of brilliant, sleazy rock ‘n’ roll tunes. I wouldn’t get too attached though, the October tour that they are embarking on not only marks the release of their debut album, but sadly the band’s final ever shows; definitely a reason to come out and see them kick up some dust at The Green Door Store. The equally as cool punk two-piece Slaves will also be joining the party with their raw, unmistakably British garage sound; these guys have been receiving a lot of much deserved attention recently, so get involved up close and personal whilst you still can. Support also comes from local grunge trio Last Heir who are most definitely worth coming down early for; their Nirvana/Smashing Pumpkins inspired sound never fails to impress and will suit this line up very nicely indeed.
