Record Store Day 2017 – April 22

This April 22nd will see us all going a little more crazy than usual to get our hands on some beautiful wax!

This international celebration of independent record shops and their importance on our high streets is pretty much Christmas for music lovers. What makes it better than that though, is that you get to choose your own presents, and boy is there a lot to choose from!

A whopping 500+ exclusive, very limited vinyl releases will be available to by on the day, only available over the counter in your favourite indie record stores. Now in it’s 10th year, this anniversary event will surely be the best yet, with much sought after new releases and reissues from the likes of David Bowie, Slaves, The Cure, Kate Tempest and many more.

Joining 250+ shops around the UK are Brighton’s finest record hot-spots, Rarekind Records, Cult Hero and of course Resident Music - who will not only be fulfilling your wish lists, but also hosting acoustic performances from local acts Holly Macve, Robb Johnson and the legendary British Sea Power. It is a celebration after all!

Queues tend to start as early as midday the day before (yes, some people camp overnight) so head on down early if there is something you really have your eye on! Don’t let this put you off though, RSD welcomes even the most casual record buyers and there’s a good chance you’ll still be able to pick up some gems even if you do sleep through your alarm.

Support your local indie, not just for Record Store Day but all year round!

More information on the event is available from the official RSD 2017 website,  Resident Music, Cult Hero & Rarekind Records.
